Setup
Linked Dimensions allows you to specify other dimensions values that will be defaulted when you enter a certain dimension value.
Priority
Before you can setup the dimensions values you want to default, you need to setup the priority order of the Dimensions. A priority must be set against the dimension before you will be able to setup any linked dimensions aginst the dimension values.
To do this go to the Dimensions page, and enter a number into the Priority field. 1 will be the highest priority, 2 second etc.
In this example I will be setting up my Projects to default the dimensions for Department and Cost Centre. The Department will then default the CustomerGroup. So my priority has been setup as:
Linked Dimension for a Single Dimension Value
Select the Dimension you want to setup linked dimensions for – in this example I am setting them up against the Project dimension.
Choose Dimension then Dimension Values from the ribbon.
Select the Dimension Value you want to setup the linked dimensions for, and then select Linked Dimensions from the Ribbon.
